Politics and Religion - Middle of Paper.

Stop Calling Politics Our New Religion.

The merging of politics and religion has not been good for the country because it blurs the lines of what is acceptable and what is not.

Religion and Politics: Integration, Separation and Conflict.
Relations to power of religion and Politics.
It’s offensive to both politics and religion.

Both religion and politics have one common goal: that is to acquire political power and use it to fulfill their aims. However, to achieve this object, their methods are different. Religion mobilizes religious sensibilities of people in order to get their support to capture power; while politics uses intrigue, diplomacy, and makes attempt to win public opinion either democratically, if the system allows it, or usurps power with the help of army, if the society is under-developed and backward.

Therefore, in power struggle, both politics and religion make attempts to undermine each other. If religion holds political authority, its ambition is to exploit it to fulfill a divine mission. It claims that it derives authority from divinity and therefore its mission is holy, motivated to reform society under the spiritual guidance. Politics, on the contrary, bereft of any value, directs its policy on the needs and requirements of society whereupon, it obliges to change laws and system of government accordingly. This is a basic difference between two approaches of religion and politics :

  • Religion determines its authority on divine laws which could not be changed with human intervention.

  • While in pragmatic political approach society should move ahead, change and adjust itself with the new arising challenges of time.

In its secular approach man is responsible to determine his destiny. He is not under the control of divinity to remain submissive and inactive. On the contrary, he is supposed to initiate and plan to build a society according to his vision.

There are three models in history related to religion and politics :

  • In one when religion and politics both unite with each other in an attempt to monopolize political power. We call it integration and sharing model.

  • In the second model, politic, after subduing and overpowering religion, uses it for its interests. In this model religion plays subservient role to politics.

  • In the third model both come into conflict with each other that subsequently lead their separation. In this model they appear as rivals and compete to struggle for domination.

Conclusion - After analyzing the impact of different models, we can reach to the conclusion that what comes out when religion and politics integrate with each other ; and what happens when politic dominates religion or religion subordinates politics.

Separation of religion from politics does not make it weak or vulnerable.

God Is One - Life, Hope & Truth.

 OM

(Auṃ or Oṃ or ॐ) is a sacred sound and a spiritual symbol in Indian religions. It Signifies the Essence of the Ultimate Reality, Consciousness. The syllable Om is also referred to as onkara (ओङ्कार, oṅkāra), omkara (ओंकार, oṃkāra) and pranava (प्रणव, praṇava).
"Om (Devanagari: ॐ, Kannada: ಓಂ, Tamil: ௐ, Malayalam: ഓം, Telugu: ఓం, Bengali: ওঁ, Odia : ଓଁ or ଓଁ) is referred to as praṇava."
What is AUM?
AUM is not from any language or religion. Aum is the universal symbol for people of all faiths, religions and cultures. AUM is the universal cosmic sound of creation and destruction. AUM is just a sound that means nothing, yet can mean everything. AUM is the sound that maintains the consciousness of nature and mother earth.
In Hinduism,
Om refers to Atman (soul, self within) and Brahman (ultimate reality, entirety of the universe, truth, divine, supreme spirit, cosmic principles, knowledge). Om (or Aum, ॐ) is the sacred sound symbol that represents Universe; the ultimate reality (Brahman). It is prefixed and sometimes suffixed to all Vedic mantras and prayers. Aum is often said to represent God in the three aspects of Brahman (A), Vishnu (U) and Shiva (M). As the Divine primordial vibration, it represents the one ultimate reality , underlying and encompassing all of nature and all of existence.
In Sikhism,
Ik Onkar, iconically represented as ੴ in Sikhism are the opening words of the Guru Granth Sahib Ji, The Sikh scripture. It is the statement that 'there is one God', and that there is 'singularity despite seeming plurality'. AUM is invoked as “Ik Onkar” in Sikhism, spelt out as "ਇੱਕ ਓਅੰਕਾਰ" in Guru Granth sahib. Guru Granth sahib is the most sacred book of Sikhism. Ik onkar literally means “One god” thus emphasizing on oneness of god to resemble their monotheistic belief. AUM is known by words like Shabd, Naam and "Bani” in sikhism. According to Sikhism, Shabad is the most powerful force that can create everything including the smallest of larvae.
In Christianity,
Amen is the Christian equivalent of AUM. Many scholars believe that Amen is formed by combining the two words (Aum + men). This literally means that Aum is the father of all mankind. i.e AUM is God.
As we all know that Jesus is mentioned as the father of mankind in the bible, Sanskrit word ‘AUM’ not only represent Hindu God ‘Brahman’ but also Christian god “Jesus”.
NOTE - Sacredness of AUM is clearly evident from the first verse of bible that states "In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God."
In Islam,
Ameen, a sacred word in Islam, is phonetically very similar to AUM. Though Ameen does not appear in quran, Muslims always say Ameen after closing the Prayers.
The importance of uttering ‘Amen’ to free the soul from all sins."If a Muslim says amen [that] coincides with the angels, than all past sins will be forgiven."
In Jainism,
Om is considered a condensed form of reference to the Pañca-Parameṣṭhi, by their initials A+A+A+U+M (o3m). The Dravyasamgraha quotes a Prakrit line. AAAUM (or just "Om") is one syllable short form of the initials of the five parameshthis: "Arihant, Ashiri, Acharya, Upajjhaya, Muni".
In Buddhism,
AUM is also placed at the begining of Buddhist mantras. AUM mani padme hum is the sacred mantra of Esoteric Buddhists.
AUM is referred by Buddhist mystics as the Transcendental Sound of Avalokiteshvara. In Tibetan Buddhist scriptures, AUM is extolled as Roar of Dharmata. In Theravada Buddhism, AUM is called the Sound of Silence. AUM is chanted as HUM in Tibetan Buddhism.
In the Buddhist literature “Surangama Sutra”, listening to sound is the best method of Self- Realization.
In Judaism,
Judaism was highly influenced by Hinduism. Aum sound is one of such influences.
Like AUM, three letters in Hebrew is said to be the source of all articulate sounds. This three letters are Shin, Mem, and Aleph. Aleph is silent, Mem sounds like "Mmmmmm" and Shin like "Shhhhhh". So, phonetically, these three Hebrew letters is very similar to AUM. Amen is said to be derived from Aman meaning “to nourish” and “make strong”. Hence chanting of Amen is meant to instill energy and nourishment in the body.
Conclusion :
Aum is a single, indivisible sound that is the seed of the universe. Through this sound, gods set the motion of all the planets of this universe. Every second, AUM chant maintains this materialistic existence. Without AUM, there is no birth. Without AUM, there is no death. AUM existed, exists and will forever exist till the end of eternity.Sacred Sound of AUM vibrates the universe. AUM is the creative sound of the universe. So, it should not be surprising to see the influence of AUM in all major religions of the world. Chant AUM to realize the power of AUM.

Stop Feminism - See it. Name it. Stop it.

"Feminism was established to allow unattractive women easier access to the mainstream".
I listen to feminists and all these radical gals — most of them are failures. They've blown it. The feminist agenda is not about equal rights for women. It is about a socialist, political movement that encourages women to destroy capitalism. These women just need a man in the house. That's all they need. Most of the feminists need a man to tell them what time of day it is and to lead them home. And they blew it and they're mad at all men. Feminists hate men.
"They hate men—that's their problem"
We must not allow ourselves to be deflected by the feminists who are anxious to force us to regard the two genders as completely equal in position and worth. The feminist movement taught women to see themselves as victims of an oppressive patriarchy.
"Self-imposed victimhood is not a recipe for happiness".

Bhai Dooj - Blessings Unlimited.

The festival of Bhai Dooj is celebrated every year on the second date of Kartik Shukla Paksha as per the Hindu calendar. One of the most awaited festivals of sisters because on this day sisters keep fast for their brother’s long life and protect them from the death god, Yama Raja. They put the auspicious ‘Tilak’ on this day and it is a belief that the tilak protects brothers from any kind of mishap. Sisters pray for the good health and wealth of brothers.

It is also known as Bhai Phonta in Bengali, Bhau Beej in Marathi, Bhatru Dviteeya, or Bhaghini Hastha Bhojanamu in Telangana, etc. In different states, people call this festival by different names but they have the same mythological beliefs.
It is celebrated in India as well as in Nepal by the Hindu community. In different parts of India, it is known by different names but all of them aim the same. Apart from India, it is also celebrated in some other countries having a Hindu community like Nepal, Mauritius, etc. But it is called ‘Bhai Tika’.

There is a story behind this occasion -
Lord Sun had 2 children Yam (Yama Raja) and Yami (Yamuna) but when their mother left them in the governance of ‘Chhaya’. She threw both of them out of the house as a result both parted at a very early age. As a result, after the Yamuna got married and once, she requested his brother to visit her because it was very long, she met him. Yama Raja was very busy so he refused but after some time he realized that he should go and when he visited, the Yamuna was very happy.
She welcomed him and served the best food and offered very good hospitality. Yama Raja got happy and asked her to have a wish, she asked her to bless that auspicious day. Any brother who will visit her sister's place on the second date of Kartik Shukla Paksha will be blessed with long life. Yama Raja happily said ‘Tathaastu’. From that day every year people celebrate this day as Bhai Dooj.

Since then the festival got started during which sisters pray for long life of their brothers and brothers shower them with gifts. The festival of Bhai Dooj reaffirms the pious relation of sister and brothers.
